Steven Block

Steven Block grew up in Michigan City, Indiana. He dreamed of becoming a Forest Ranger, but after a semester at Purdue, he realized that Forestry required a lot more college than he was prepared to undertake. He went to Arizona State, then returned to Indiana to finish out his degree at Ball State University, graduating with a degree in sculpture. 

Steve’s career was spent in construction, but his interest in art led him to do restoration woodworking for the Ball family’s historical buildings around Muncie. His work can be seen all over Muncie, Indiana in historical homes and businesses downtown. He spent the latter half of his career as a sole proprietor building cabinets and doing renovation and remodeling work.

He recently retired and hopes to focus his retirement career on building furniture and making utilitarian creations with artistic elements.
