Robin Frost-Bess, “Sisterhood—The Beauty and Strength of Women” for October First Friday

September 13, 2023

Indianapolis, IN—Robin Frost-Bess’ “Sisterhood – The Beauty and Strength of Women” comes to the Full Circle Nine Gallery in October best placed to impart the wisdom and understanding that the other of three daughters, and herself the daughter of a family of artists could provide.  The show will premiere as part of the First Friday art tour at the Full Circle Nine Gallery (FC9), 6-9pm on Friday, October 6th. Admission and parking are free.

The artist uses mixed media—acrylic paint, paper, and acrylic paint pens on canvas or board—to highlight the importance of women’s strength; as mothers, sisters, daughters, and friends.

The exhibition runs the gamut of issues inherent in a woman’s life and journey, from whimsical, to nature, to travel, and to important social issues.

“I have been thinking lately about how strong we have to be in life… We women need to support each other. This show reflects strong, diverse women,” Robin Frost-Bess said.

About Robin Frost-Bess

Robin Frost-Bess comes from a long line of artists and hopes that if they could see what she’s doing, that they would be proud of her work. She lives on ten acres in Danville, west of Indianapolis and has been married to her husband, Scott, for over 40 years. They have four children and five grandchildren, whom Frost-Bess encourages to continue on the family artistic legacy.

When it comes to her art, it’s not like Frost-Bess could ever just walk away.

“I make art because I have to,” Frost-Bess said. “I have ideas all of the time. Those ideas make their way to canvas eventually. I’m always inspired by my travels, especially to Italy.”

Frost-Bess was raised within an extended family of artists going back to both of her grandmothers, in a house of paint and canvas. She developed an interest in paper several years ago, and has not looked back since.

Her wish is that attendees take away a reflection upon the women in their lives and consequently do everything to support them in every way.
